Achieved National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Bronze level.• Emergency Department nurse manager role restructured for department inclusive. Implemented new Thrive EDIS EMR; improved throughput with LEAN project, revised triage process and implementing quick registration; and in pursuit of Trauma Designation level 4.• Initiated House Supervisor on weekends.• Operating Room introduced Charge Nurse, coordinated CSSD department.• Out-Patient Surgery restructured work flow and implemented Scheduler.• Developed the Charge Nurses and their role with staffing accountability. • Implemented Admission/Discharge nurse M-F to cover the high volume patient turnover. • ICU participating in ArSaves at unit level in addition to ED, increased skill level through intensive training preceptorship and improving our critical care experience nurse mix. • Decreased medication errors by improving scanning of medications from 27% to 91%.• Implemented a 12-week preceptor program for new nurse graduates.• Achieved substantial cost savings by eliminating all agency contract nurses.• Improved nurse retention/satisfaction through regular staff meetings, open and generous communication, implementing staffing productivity model, and improving salary structure.
