Project: S.A.F.E. (Sales &Availability for Filmed Entertainment) The team consisted of 35 people including 20 developers, my role being that of a Sr. PB Architect / Analystand technical lead of the production support team supporting 150 users with remote locations all over theworld. As a technical lead, was responsible for mentoring five junior/mid-level developers. Lead in conducting technical interviews in PowerBuilder / Sybase. Conducted about 50 interviews andhired about 12 developers in the group. Responsible as an architect and administrator of version control software called VSS (Visual Source Safe). Role included requirement gathering, heavy user interaction, business analysis, application design,development (equally using PowerBuilder, PFC and stored procedure and triggers.), implementation relatedto new enhancement and production support issues. Responsible for successful migration of the application from PB 6.5 to PB 8.0.2 Helped the team improve/gain the user’s confidence level in the system and the support they received. Proposed to the management to move all the remote users to access the application using Citrix and thensuccessfully implemented it in two weeks to move above 150 users. Some of the benefits achieved due tothis: (a) Replication of ASA database was not giving the user real time information. (It had a time lag of 10minutes) (b) Deployment at multiple places (8 remote sites) reduced down to one Citrix Server.
