The West region finished the year with amazing results again – exceeding growth objectives in an unprecedented 4 of 5 years. Everything we accomplished was a direct result of the influence, inspiration, and hard work of the people on these teams, and those supporting us. It never ceased to amaze me what we could achieve when we focused on the possibilities and ignored the obstacles; as a result, a world of creativity opens up and new paths forward present themselves. Our true capability was powered by our idea-based culture - it positively changed everything we touched. We knew that the future is not pre–destined, and like any live sporting event, we recognized the exhilaration that comes from not knowing the outcome. We took on challenges together showing respect and empathy for each other, while using our passion and perseverance to create our own success. We learned from each other, took care of our customers, had fun, and delivered a string of winning seasons next to none. Bravo! I became part of the “Team Teradata” in the early 90’s as a techie Solution Architect, and ran a Consulting region before crossing the chasm into sales. Over the years, I played an integral role in enabling the company to successfully navigate many transitions and transformations, including our most recent transition from an on-premise to cloud and software-only provider.
