About Varaia Roshon

While others are burning out. I've still got the drive. I still love teaching. I love watching my students grow into professional scholars. I started out as a teacher and left teaching in 2013 due to relocating, the high cost of childcare and a side passion for real estate that I had always wanted to pursue. I figured teaching would always be there when I needed it. I had a few good years running in real estate and then a close friend died tragically, then covid hit and collectively we all lost our minds for a bit. I, like many others, was not an essential worker and the real estate business was hit hard during 2020. I found myself struggling with zero real estate work and leading a pod of partially home schooled children and public online schooled children while my essential friends kept working. It reminded me how much I missed celebrating even the smallest accomplishment of students and motivating them to be more. It also reminded me how much of a grind real estate is to start back up again. I still loved real estate but I couldn't go back to it full time. I made the decision to go back to teaching because who knew how long Covid regulations would last and I needed something stable. However, coming back to teaching after TikTok had raised kids for a year and a half was not my best life choice, but here we are.I am proud to teach science at my middle school and challenge my students to think critically. I am thrilled to bring HOSA to Nisqually Middle School to help them become the future health professionals of their dreams. I still have an active realtors license but am more selective about the business I pursue. I use the legal, negotiation, and paperwork skills I learned from 7+ years of real estate, daily. The days may be long but I am living my best life right now.
