Founder/Chief Executive OfficerVeteran Women'S Enterprise Center (Vwec) Jan 2017 - PresentThe Veterans Women Enterprise Center (VWEC) is a national initiative inaugurated in 2017 in southern Dallas, born out of research, and recommendations from institutions including the National Women’s Business Council, the Interagency Task Force on Veterans Small Business Development, and the Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs. All three agencies unanimously advocated for the initiation of comprehensive gender-specific research on a local, regional, and/or national scale.A pivotal moment arrived in 2019 when VR's article "It's Time to Turn Up the Volume on Women Veteran-Owned Businesses," was published in Military.com. In pursuit of this overarching goal, the VWEC has already made significant strides, currently extending its mentoring services across more than thirty states. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a rapid transition to virtual platforms, resulting in the engagement of almost five hundred clients within a single quarter. Impressively, VWEC's reach has extended to almost 4,000 individuals, with nearly $100,000 reinvested annually directly into entrepreneurs via its innovative 4BusinessRecovery Campaigns offered through grant and pitch funds.VWEC's audacious innovation positions it as a pivotal hub within the landscape of entrepreneur programs dedicated to veteran women entrepreneurs. This singular initiative is engineered to facilitate collaboration, eliminate redundancy, and streamline available resources. Positioned as a cornerstone within the burgeoning veteran entrepreneur ecosystem, VWEC serves as a catalyst for camaraderie, and mutually beneficial contracting opportunities.
