Responsible for the administration of metal building industry research and engineering projects, answering technical inquires on metal building systems, and interacting with United States code and standards organizations for the Metal Building Manufacturers Association through the trade association management firm, Thomas Associates, Inc.

Performed structural condition assessments, structural evaluations, failure investigations, repair and rehabilitation design, and litigation consulting. Managed large, multi-faceted projects involving staff from multiple offices and subconsultants. Developed inspection and analysis procedures for the assessment and evaluation of roof structure steel framing and coordinated the deployment of inspection teams. Selected Projects:* Major Nationwide Retail Chain: Structural steel roof structure assessment and repairs for hundreds of stores.* Duvall Wing Prince George’s County Courthouse, Upper Marlboro, Maryland: Design of new roof structure on fire-damaged historic building.* Langley Air Force Base Dormitory, Langley, Virginia: Investigation of construction claim dispute on cold-formed steel design and construction.Coordinator for WJE Structural Metals Technical Resource Group: Organized welding workshop for WJE staff, presented and co-presented four WJE webinars, performed an experience survey, and answered technical forum questions.

Performed numerous structural investigations and condition assessments for a variety of structural systems and materials. Condition assessment work consisted of prepurchase surveys and facility management projects evaluating churches, schools, multi-family residences, offices, and other buildings. Designed new buildings, additions, and modifications, including a college dormitory and a hospital addition. Worked with facades constructed of brick, concrete block, aluminum panels, granite, and stucco with various backups including steel studs.Selected Projects:* Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, Massachusetts: Condition assessment of churches, schools, and other buildings at over fifty parishes.* Lafayette Avenue Reservoir, Wyckoff, New Jersey: Design of new concrete dome on two million gallon prestressed concrete water storage tank.* Harbor Plaza, Boston, Massachusetts: Design of stucco/steel stud prefabricated wall panel repairs.
