  My deep interest in biology brought me one day to do my PhD thesis in molecular biology. Namely, it’s in neurobiology and the topic: “Functional role of the cell adhesion molecule L1 in intracellular compartments”. That is a pure research of L1 protein that mainly express in neuronal cells and serves for: neuronal migration, axon outgrowth, cell reparation after injury and other functions.• To wider describe binding partners of L1 (some of it already published). Namely, it’s in neurobiology and the topic: “Functional role of the cell adhesion molecule L1 in intracellular compartments”. That is a pure research of L1 protein that mainly express in neuronal cells and serves for: neuronal migration, axon outgrowth, cell reparation after injury and other functions.• To wider describe binding partners of L1 (some of it already published). Expressed L1-tagged protein and with special environment added to isolated nuclei or mitochondria from HEK293 cells. Later - Mass Spectrometry analysis.• Another approach was to inject tagged L1 gene sequence in genome of HEK293 cells to create stably expressing cell line. Was used a FLP-FRT recombination technology and a genetically modified cell line was created for experiments.• For in vivo study the new mouse line was planned to breed. For that purposes а single guide RNA (sgRNA) was chosen after submitting the targeting region with CRISPOR design tool and line generation was done with CRISPR/CAS9 method. Brain slices were stained with different specific antibody to check alteration in dentate gyrus and cerebellum.As a PhD student enrolled in University of Hamburg in ZMNH we had an advanced molecular biology courses that expanded our knowledge and familiarize with contemporary problems that science faces and trying to solve. As well as practice skills in laser microscopy, neurophysiology, FACS, etc. For the moment I’m looking for a job to be able to sustain my way of life and to finish in meanwhile my PhD thesis.
