The Center comforts and prepares children as they wait to visit their incarcerated loved ones and provides human services referrals to the families of the imprisoned. Also helped to coordinate a regional advocacy effort devoted to improving the experiences of the children of the incarcerated.

As Coordinator, I recruited and developed a coalition of over 260 individuals and over 90 regional organizations who collaborated to mobilize community leaders and local media to address and solve the problems of at-risk children. Responsible for fiscal management, contract administration, grant and proposal writing, conference and event planning, evaluation analysis, media interface, interagency collaborative work, planning and carrying out of advocacy initiatives, and supervision of employees. During my tenure, Child Watch initiated an innovative series of experiential, on-site tours that inspired Allegheny County community leaders to build a new Juvenile Court and convinced nine local foundations to fund a new legal hearing officer program at this court.
