After working for 17 years decided to set-up a boutique Financial Advisory firm specializing in syndication of Debt and equity fund raising for Corporates. In this endeavor have been successful in raising about Rs 1500 Crores of funds for various large and mid-cap corporates in Real Estate, Infrastructure, Hotel etc. from various Commercial Banks, LIC etc. In addition, have been successful in managing proprietary funds, and have made investments in YourNest Venture Capital as an Limited Partner (LP) and Private ventures including one in Healthcare domain – Surya Herbal Ltd.

WMAS has been active in the area of Equity Research and Investment Advisory services since its incorporation. An application for registration as Portfolio Management Service provider was approved by Securities Exchange Board of India in 2006 with me being one of the Directors. Assets under Management (AUM) were augmented, also systems and processes were set-up for growing the business.For the last couple of years, I specialized in equity research of mid-cap corporates, where-in we had identified several out-performers. In addition was rendering Investment advisory services to ultra HNW clients.

Joined SMIFS which was joint venture between two Stockbroking houses – Stewart & Co. and C. Mackertich, in which International investor George Soros had an equity stake. We were active in managing a number of Initial Public Offerings (IPOs). This apart we were involved in project advisory and Loan Syndication activities. Since, a number of Public Sector Units were Delhi based, we successfully managed Bond Issues for IRFC, HUDCO and PFC. During 1999-2000, we successfully completed fund raising with Institutional Investors in the equity market for various groups. We acted as advisors to the AMTEK group in their takeover of Ahmednagar Forgings Ltd. and another prominent divestment. Functioned as a Profit Centre Head at SMIFS, and was actively involved in assisting group companies broking operations in North India.

Joined Mr P.N. Vijay, former Head of Merchant Banking at Citibank, in the last days of Controller of Capital Issues (CCI) regime. Handled a number of Capital structuring and Equity fund raising advisory assignments for leading Northern Indian business groups like DCM, DSCL, JK group, Jindals etc. I was promoted and transferred to Kolkata, where I handled IPO’s for Bengal Tea & Fabrics, Assambrooke, Titagarh Steel etc. On being brought to Delhi, assisted the Managing Director in sensitive Mergers & Acquisitions advisory for several clients. Also, handled important retainer accounts with business groups like Jindals, JK etc.

I was the only Graduate selected by CII, one of India’s leading Industry chambers, when they selected their first batch of entry level executives. During my short tenure of one year with their Northern Region Office at New Delhi handled various sub-committee’s and organized Worshops on contemporary subjects. I was part of Indian Engineering Trade Fair (IETF) organized by CII in 1989.
