Holding a Master's in Counseling, I bring a passion for honoring the subjective needs of the human person to my interactions with others. As a Green Cross certified traumatologist with a Level 2 EMDR certificate, I have the training to assist persons who have suffered both major and minor traumas in their lives.I bring an integrative approach to clinical psychotherapy that helps clients understand and overcome obstacles in their lives that prevent them from flourishing. My principal modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), but I have been influenced by the following theories that speak to the human condition as we see it today: On a theoretical level, Frankl's existential model; but on a more practical level, Bowlby's attachment theory and Bowen's family systems theory.I have experience working with a variety of clinical and non-clinical situations involving children, adolescents, and families. My internship was spent helping children and adolescents in crisis situations. I have given a great deal of time and energy in peer services and advocacy through the Northern Virginia chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI).

I still hear from former students and parents how much they loved their experience there.
