Performed hardware design, Altium schematic capture/conversion and component updating of Iridium satellite modem reference design for the Small Form Factor Broadband Core Transceiver (SFBCX) project, a SATCOM modem.

On contract to various companies:- Schneider Electric - Designed SCADAPack 470 RTU, incorporating Schneider's LCES2-400 Macrocomponent, including Ethernet, USB, MODbus and CANbus, power supplies; redesigned surge protection circuitry on power, digital and analogue ports for IEC61000-4-5 compliance.- Ericsson Canada - Hardware design verification of high speed interfaces of the LTE AAS controller board: JESD204B (10 Gbps), PCIe (5 Gbps), and Ethernet (100Mbps).- Canopy Growth - Performed architecture and hardware design of Li-Polymer battery charging fixture.- Ciena - 28 port Ethernet switch: requirements capture from block diagrams, component review and selection, schematic capture and design analysis of DDR4, High speed serial, Xilinx FPGA integration, clocking design and distribution, POL power supply review and analysis; and integration of SGMII, PCIe, USB, RS232, I2C, SPI interfaces.- Armstrong Monitoring - Redesigned SMARC-based System on Module Baseboard and I/O board with SMPS/LDO power supplies, interfaces to LCD display and touchscreen, Gigabit Ethernet, USB3, USB2 with Hub, SD Card, RS-485 and relays.

Senior Hardware Designer on Multi-Processor Card for Aspire-400 SATCOM Satellite Data Unit, to provide broadband internet connectivity to airline aircrew and passengers. Performed design, schematic capture, constraint creation and management, and supervision of layout of Freescale QorIQ processors (T1024, P1021), DDR3L memory, and CEPT E-1 transceiver. Performed tasks involving Mentor HyperLynx DRAM Signal Integrity simulation and System power supply Power Integrity, design oversight, RTCA DO-160 compliant design, PCB Design & Layout reviews, configuration of processors and DRAM controllers, and provided overall guidance to design team.

Performed design and verification work in digital baseband and power areas for several mobile handset projects. Responsibilities included:· Full HD AMOLED Display and Mobility DisplayPort/SlimPort: Flex layout, power component recommendations and routing, product implementation and integration, design verification including MIPI compliance testing & MyDP 1.0/SlimPort compliance and certification.· Contributor for camera system flex initial design and development, including ISP and high speed MIPI camera interfaces, power generation/distribution, flex board routing, electrical characterisation of front & rear facing cameras, MIPI compliance and camera power characterisation.· LCD Flex layout, power component recommendations and routing, design verification (MIPI compliance, BER testing, power sequencing, parametric and stress testing), debug, adjustment of MIPI PHY parameters to improve RF desens, design verification of ADC, analogue muxes.· Adapted existing smartphone schematics and layout to interface with proprietary power monitor/report tool to provide subsystem current draw information for battery optimisation. Designed, debugged, tested and performed military and civilian qualification testing on following projects:· FLIR-based image processing/communications board for CMA-2700 Enhanced Flight Vision System which included 1 Gbps serial interface over fibre, high speed Hotlink interface, Freescale MPC5200 microcontroller, SDRAM, Xilinx Virtex-5 DSP FPGA selection, interfacing and integration, analog pressure sensor, thermal sensor/thermistor interface and integration, RFID integration; performed signal integrity simulations on high speed buses for processor and DSP FPGA. · Developed/debugged Flight Management Control Display Unit, led keypanel update for MHP and C130J aircraft, performed MIL-STD 461 & MIL-STD 810 qualification testing; researched and revised FMECA and Testability Analysis, wrote DO-254 PHAC and reviewed FAA/TCCA airworthiness certification artifacts.· Performed project management including planning, scheduling, preparation/participation in Critical Design Reviews.
