CurrentOur company is developing an antigen-specific treatment for myasthenia gravis by targeting the pathogenic antibodies and memory B-cells. Myasthenia gravis is a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disease that affects approximately 1.4 million people worldwide. The disease –which triggers an immune response that blocks the normal functioning of neuromuscular signals – leads to serious and progressive consequences, including weakness in skeletal muscles and even the inability to walk, talk, eat or breathe. Current MG therapies include non-antigen-specific immune suppression, which makes patients vulnerable to infection and other medical complications. Our approach will be more effective and longer lasting without any of the negative side effects of immunosuppressants.
