The SimplyE codebase is open source.http://www.librarysimplified.org/consortia-project-design.html Maintained existing code, and fixed numerous bugs in the iOS version of SimplyE using Objective-C.Wrote new code and features in Swift. Major feature developed: PDF book rendering, including last page read, bookmarks, and annotations; including performing half a year's worth of case studies evaluating different PDF platforms and finally focusing on integrating the PSPDFKit SDK and building a proof of concept PDF reader using PSPDFKit into SimplyE, which was formerly an epub-only app. Major feature developed: sending notifications to patron's device when patron’s book reservations become available.Major feature developed: bookmarks for the epub book format in SimplyE. Included updating the class project in advance, bringing the syntax to the current version of Swift. Also assisted in the install workshop, identifying students who needed loaner laptops and guiding those who needed help with installing the software needed to participate in class the next day. As a TA for the day long beginner JavaScript workshop, I assisted the instructor with covering basic programming concepts, how to use the Atom text editor and Chrome browser development tools, and helping the students with building a browser based "snake game". Included updating the class curriculum in advance, in particular, the portion that covered installing git and pushing the web app to Git Pages. Also assisted in the install workshop, identifying students who needed loaner laptops and guiding those who needed help with installing the software needed to participate in class the next day.
