I implement, customize, extend, and support Granicus govAccess, a Web CMS platform formerly know as visionLive that is the latest version of the VisionCMS software I co-wrote in 2004. Since that release, VisionCMS/visionLive has been the market leader in Web CMS for small to medium sized cities with over 800 clients across the country. GovAccess is mostly .NET MVC and SQL Server but the newer features are built as .NET Core microservices.I was among the first programmers hired at Vision, initially as a contractor in summer 2003 to write a Web-based RFP software from the ground up. I was drawn to Vision because it was an opportunity to help governments serve their citizens better. To that end I helped turn a successful local site hosting and static Web site company into a full-fledged software shop specializing in CMS software and other solutions for public sector. With one other developer I wrote VisionCMS Version 4, built on ASP.NET Web Forms. The success of this release allowed Vision to grow and an outside team was hired to create the next version (renamed visionLive). visionLive featured an improved MVC architecture and much better UI and used much of the original database structure for easy migration and retaining business rules that we spent years tailoring to the needs of city organizations. After launch, I implemented, migrated existing clients, and supported visionLive, helping it become the acknowledged industry leader in public sector CMS software. Vision was acquired by Granicus (a Vista Equity Partners company) in early 2018 and visionLive became part of govAccess, the Web and mobile aspect of their suite of government software offerings.At Vision I also worked between 2005 and 2012 with Jobtrak co-founder Ken Ramberg and MSNBC host JJ Ramberg to create and launch the GoodShop charity site, bringing back to Vision valuable experience with scalability and SEO.

Began as IT staff, moved into front-end Web work for startup with mostly entertainment clientele that was transitioning into Web development work. Learned fundamentals of server programming and databases there.

Planned, configured, and oversaw operation of digital imaging at legal reprographics company. Designed and implemented computer document management system. Managed document conversion projects. Computer Document Imaging Architech certification.

Oversaw copy editing and night production of UCLA's daily student-run newspaper, the Daily Bruin.
