The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) was founded in November 2007 to help Asian heritage scientific and engineering professionals achieve their full potential. SASE is dedicated to the advancement of Asian heritage scientists and engineers in education and employment so that they can achieve their full career potential. In addition to professional development, SASE also encourages members to contribute to the enhancement of the communities in which they live.SASE’s mission is toPrepare Asian heritage scientists and engineers for success in the global business world.Celebrate diversity on campuses and in the workplace.Provide opportunities for members to make contributions to their local communities.SASE membership is open to men and women of all ethnic backgrounds.

Fundraising • Fundraised more than $80,000 annually with support from over 30 companies • Co-wrote over 9 grants worth in excess of $150,000: Shell, Halliburton, Coors, Daniels, NSF:CO-AMP, HP, Ball Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, Williams, ConocoPhillips Programs and Activities• Implemented programs to recruit and retain underserved populations in engineering and science fields• Developed and ran professional development workshops and programs• Directed and ran summer programs for 200 students: Management and Organization• Managed an annual program budget of over $300,000 • Supervised 1 full-time staff and over 25 work-study student employees• Participated in the hiring committee of 3 staff/administrator positions• Collaborated with various departments on developing programs and activitiesAdvising and Mentoring• Advised and mentored multi-cultural students and their chapters • Organized and led annual student leadership retreat• Created PASES chapters in Colorado and lead PASES to join with SASE Academic• Taught the Vietnam Foreign Area Study in the McBride Honors Program, which included an educational aboard trip • Taught Introductory campus class (CSM 101) to over 120 freshmen• Member of the President’s Committee of Diversity

• Developed and managed 170,000 sq. ft. Asian retail shopping center including cost projection, value estimation and financial acquisition• Negotiated contracts with multicultural tenants (Vietnamese, Chinese, Taiwanese, and Cambodian) and business prospects• Developed lease contract and various real estate forms • Thwarted Wal-Mart’s and City of Denver’s attempts to condemn Asian retail center through public eminent domain process

• Provided top level management that included sales order, logistics, bulk inventory and employee management.• Responsibilities included retail display, employee and vendor negotiation, and supply chain management.• Worked with Asian vendors and wholesalers (China, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, and Vietnam)• Managed 10-15 employees (from Vietnam, China, Mexico, and Guatemala) • Grew sales to over $10MM and • Led growth from 5,000 sq facility to 32,000 facility

• Developed and maintained 225 conventional and non-conventional production wells in the Farmington, New Mexico ranging from tight sands to cavitated coal bed methane wells.• Led field personnel in production goals and environmental training from day to day operation to H2S monitoring.• Implemented team building and mentor programs for more novice engineers.
