I am currently a third-year student at the University of Texas at Dallas, where my interest in accounting led me to switch from majoring in chemistry to pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. I am a hard worker who has been part of Texas Tech's President's Honor List twice in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, as well as UTD's Dean's List for Fall 2023.Over the summer, I took introductory accounting courses that gave me a brief overview of what being an accountant entails. I now understand the basics of accounting and how to calculate, process, solve problems, and organize transactional information. Taking these courses has not only provided me with useful practical skills that I will be sure to build upon and apply to my future accounting career but also helped me realize that I enjoy the work done as an accountant, such as creating income statements and balance sheets.Additionally, the rigorous courses that I took during my time as a chemistry student have equipped me with many important soft skills such as time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills that I am sure will aid me in not only my future courses but also my future career.Although I am new to the field of accounting and have limited experience in it, I am very willing to put in the effort to learn what is needed to become a good accountant and contribute to the company.Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile!
