I am a passionate healthcare leader who draws from my academic research background, strong communication skills and experience working within a complex healthcare environment to lead a large, diverse and highly skilled team that supports Alberta Health Services as a learning health system through the implementation and evaluation of innovative initiatives and programs. Through progressive leadership roles since the completion of my PhD, I have leveraged my skills to lead various activities and initiatives to improve the care that patients receive in Alberta including: - the provincial implementation and evaluation of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for adults with treatment resistant depression - the examination and implementation of change management strategies to address the Choosing Wisely Psychiatry recommendations- the investigation of youth and family experiences of care for substance misuse and mental health concerns in the emergency department- a clinical trial of an adult depression pathway in primary care and; - a pilot of universal screening for depression, anxiety, and substance use with referral to tiered intervention for youth in schools. As Director, Health Systems Knowledge & Evaluation, I lead a team of ~50 FTE that provides services in evidence gathering, appraisal and analysis, evaluation design and execution, and knowledge dissemination and education to all areas and departments within AHS.
