As an accomplished Public Health Physician and Senior Scientist with a comprehensive background in providing hospital-based, community-based clinical/emergency care, completing scientific and academic research, and supporting the advancement of public health services, I have built a successful career. Supported by 25+ years of international health recognition and expertise in Low to Middle Income Countries (LMICs), I have contributed my advanced experience to numerous initiatives and projects focused on improving healthcare and reducing viral illnesses. Although my experience and expertise are broad, I do specialize in some areas, including pediatric respiratory viral infections, viral and bacterial pneumonia, epidemiological surveillance, and vaccine testing. Furthermore, I have leveraged my expertise as a consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO), to support the advancement of modern medicine in controlling respiratory infectious diseases such as typhoid, pneumonia, avian influenza, Ebola, MERS, and most recently, COVID-19. Combining my experience in clinical, public health, and research environments, I have built a wealth of knowledge that I have contributed to various health initiatives and advancements while also providing my expertise as a member of numerous boards and committees. ✦ Selected Career Highlights & Qualifications ✦▸ Completed research and global application of respiratory viral infection therapies as faculty at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. ▸ Participated in multi-site infectious disease vaccine trial, epidemiological surveillance, and onsite studies in Bangladesh and Uganda. ▸ Selected as Member of WHO Task Forces/Working Groups on Child and Adolescent Health and Ebola Therapeutics.▸ Gained extensive experience conducting vaccine trials, infectious disease research, epidemiological studies in disease prevalence, and development of effective therapies for childhood respiratory infections including pneumonia.
