As the principal geneticist for the Norwegian breeding program at Mowi ASA, I focus on estimating breeding values (EBVs) and making informed decisions on selection and mating for Atlantic Salmon. By applying quantitative genetic techniques, I strive to enhance the breeding program’s outcomes.In addition to my geneticist role, I design and develop cloud-based ELT (Extract, Load, and Transform) pipelines in Azure Databricks. This involves creating automated processes for data ingestion and cleaning, such as genotype CEL file calling and parentage discovery/assignment, to ensure accurate and efficient breeding value estimation.Furthermore, I develop automated reporting systems to facilitate real-time data analysis and decision-making. My work seamlessly integrates genetic expertise with advanced data management solutions, supporting Mowi ASA’s innovative approach to aquaculture.
