Chris Kovalchuk is currently a Portfolio Manager at Claret Asset Management Corporation. In this role, he is fully engaged and dedicated to the investment management of private accounts for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, corporations, and non-profit foundations throughout Canada. Claret is one of Canada’s leading private independent wealth management firms and does its own independent research. Chris is actively involved in the firm’s independent fundamental research process. Due to this involvement, he has a keen interest in how changes to accounting standards can have an impact on a company’s financial results, management discussion and analysis disclosures and all associated key performance indicators. Chris began his career in the fintech field, specifically in the Financial Technology Credit/Lending sector. He earned his MBA from Concordia University and remains an active volunteer member of the school’s community. He mentors and coaches’ students in finance and business strategy who compete in case competitions on a national and international level.
