William Schafer Email and Phone Number
Over the course of my three undergraduate years at the University of Illinois as an Aerospace Engineering student, I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experiences within the Aerospace industry. I enrolled at UIUC due to my passions surrounding the development of flight systems and space travel, and I wanted to develop the skills necessary to play a part in the bright and growing future of the Aerospace industry. In the summers of my freshman and sophomore years, I interned at Calamos Investments as a Software Engineering intern, working on projects in development to manage, analyze, and visualize financial data. During this time, I was an active and productive member within a multitude of clubs and organizations including the Liquid Rocket Initiative, Illini Motorsports, and Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity, where I held leadership roles and streamlined productivity. In the summer of my junior year, I interned at DAC Engineered Products as an Aerospace Engineering Technical Research and Development Intern where I reverse engineered plane components and mentored under engineering, quality, and marketing leadership. During the same summer, after reaching out about my passions in algorithm development and control systems to an Aerospace professor, I acquired the opportunity to work with Aerospace academic faculty at UIUC as a researcher and developer of an Aerospace-oriented physics engine for simulating advanced control algorithms while operating as a course assistant for AE 353: Aerospace Control Systems for the 2024-2025 academic year. My interests and experiences span across all of the engineering industry, with my internship at DAC-EP providing me with a vast amount of experience in both Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. During my time there, I also developed sales algorithms for the marketing teams to streamline their business processes. Thanks to these amazing opportunities, I have honed my skills in development and engineering, and I hope to engage in future opportunities where I can put my skills to use and make a meaningful impact by contributing to innovative projects, driving solutions, and helping the company achieve its goals.
