The Delaware Elder Law Center works with families who are overwhelmed, frustrated, or exhausted by the challenge of managing the care of a loved one. These concerns are turned into a plan to get the support that is needed in place, establish a fund of money to pay for it, and protect assets for the future.Elder law is a collaborative, relationship-based process, not a transaction for documents. The elder law services we provide are: individual and married couple applications for Long Term Care Medicaid, protection of assets and income, and estate planning services: wills, trusts, durable power of attorney, advanced healthcare directive, and HIPAA release. The benefit to you is that you can afford the care that you need without going broke, the necessity of filing for guardianship is avoided, and there may be assets left over for your children to inherit. Our process is supportive and designed to get the family to the next step securely and safely. It is your positive experience that matters most. To this end, our attorney will meet with you in your home, in the hospital, or in a facility when necessary so that your needs are met (subject to CDC guidelines). We will also help families navigate their non-legal issues by referring you to other service providers as needed.
