After joining Kindred at Home, I quickly initiated a comprehensive “Service and Communication” program to increase our referral sources satisfaction with our services. This program directly led to an 18% increase in admits over the previous year, and allowed our team to consistently exceed our budgeted admit goals. In 2017, I launched “Step on It”, a senior walking and wellness program, which served our area Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) residents by increasing physical activity and reducing fall risk. In 2010, I helped open and launch the new Amedisys Home Health Prescott office. In 2011, I initiated the marketing and strategic planning effort for our “BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAM.” This program targeted home health care appropriate patients who also have a behavioral health diagnosis. I met directly with neurologists and primary care physicians to discuss the benefits of this program, which resulted in a 31% increase in direct MD referrals over the previous year. As a new home health representative, I focused my business development efforts on marketing our disease management programs. By focusing on specific diseases when meeting with physicians, I was better able to ask relevant questions and “paint the picture” of the kinds of patients we can help. As a result, we increased our direct MD referrals and finished the year at 102% of budgeted admit goals.
