I am the Non-Executive Director at Vision Blue Capital, the Guernsey-registered Manager to Vision Blue Resources. Vision Blue was founded in late 2020 by Sir Mick Davis, a highly successful mining executive, credited with building Xstrata plc into one of the largest mining companies in the world, prior to its acquisition by Glencore plc. Before listing Xstrata on the LSE as CEO, he was CFO of Billiton plc, and Chairman of Billiton Coal, which he joined from the position of Eskom CFO. In early 2021, Vision Blue raised an initial US$60m, and made its first investment of US$29.5m in NextSource Materials.

TAM Mining Limited owns exploration rights in a large and relatively underexplored area in the North West Province of Zambia, which is emerging as a major copper producer. I worked with Hayat Group, a well-established local construction company based in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and Istanbul, Turkey, to create a joint venture to marry European experience and expertise with Turkmen skills and contacts. Infrastructure, hotels, apartment blocks and commercial centre developments remain under active consideration and discussion, pending Turkmen Government approval.

Gordon Laboratory Group (GLG) was one of the UK’s leading providers of laboratory services and provided high quality laboratory services for both the private and public healthcare sectors for nearly 25 years.GLG carried out testing for Chlamydia and currently turned over more than 100,000 Chlamydia samples each year. GLG had exclusive contracts to supply STI testing and assist clients in the private healthcare sector, as well as in the NHS, where GLG achieved targets in the National Chlamydia Screening Programme (NCSP).GLG also provided pathology services at its UAE premises at the Royal Hospital Sharjah.

I developed my private bus, coach and leisure travel business into 400-employee operation in Northern England and sold my majority equity stake to Go-Ahead Group, the FTSE 250-listed PLC. My long-term contracted clients included HM Armed Forces (Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force), HM Prison Service, various County Councils (Cleveland, Durham, North Yorkshire, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear), Westminster Press (Northern Echo and Yorkshire Evening Press), DFDS Danish Seaways and many others. I operated over 200 buses and coaches, had several depots and retail ABTA travel offices across the North East of England and ran an extensive year-round programme of UK and international breaks and holidays and incoming tours from around Europe.
