· Provide technical support directly to After Market Spares customers to validate part numbers and/or investigating specifications. Average of 6-10 cases per week.· Investigate 5-6 issues per day for the After Market Spares personnel. This allows them to focus on the quoting and sales functions and reducing the turnaround time.· Identify errors in the existing Tech Manuals for the MRAP vehicles and provide that information via email requests to the After Market Spares (ASP) buyers and the BAE logistics personnel who are working on the new manuals. · Initiate drawing corrections/changes thru the PII System · Provide the ability to quickly resolve most technical issues and answer customer inquiries.· Provide Engineering/Configuration support to new programs being investigated or implemented. Insure that the part numbers/drawings are valid and up to date. Assist CDM support specialist in item setup (definition) to insure that each is a unique item. Identify part format errors in CDM system and develop guidelines to correct and avoid similar errors.· Provide liaison with the Design Engineering personnel in York, PA; Sterling Heights, MI; and Santa Clara, CA. Clarify and correct potential drawing errors and reduce the incidence of providing the incorrect parts to end customers.· Respond to field problems with either parts information or BAE contact information to insure a quick response to the customer.

· Provided engineering support for vehicle upgrade and overhaul of heavy armored vehicles. Vehicles included M88A1 and M88A2 Heavy recovery vehicles and the M113 family of vehicles. · Developed and implemented the processes for reclaiming and refurbishing in accordance with military specifications and the contract requirements, developed and wrote work instructions for processing and vehicle assembly, performed operator training, investigated and resolved shop floor problems, developed test and assembly tooling. Provided technical support for Quality Assurance and Purchasing functions.· Provided daily on-site liaison with our customer to resolve questions and any quality issues.

· Developed process drawings, hand-over notes, and Bill of Materials for fabrication and assembly of various components for military and commercial ships. · Verified dimensions and tolerances, produced work instructions, generated purchase requisitions, applied standard hours, identified and procured any jigs or fixtures required, made manufacturing drawings as necessary, and worked closely with production control and manufacturing personnel to insure timely shipment of products.

· Designed equipment and fixtures and developed manufacturing processes for new products utilized in the manufacture of aluminum radiators, oil coolers, and condensers for OEM and aftermarket.

· Responsible for all plant engineering, R&D, process engineering, and industrial engineering functions.· Directed major facility changes and monitored safety and environmental regulations affecting operations. · Managed staff consisting of R&D supervisor, two Maintenance Supervisors, Industrial Engineer, and Robot Technician. · Developed and implemented robotic welding processes and cell layouts for the production of wrought iron furniture.

Responsible for planning and implementing production scheduling changes to reduce WIP and promote JIT manufacturing for the steel fabrication BU. Integrated new nesting software into the MIS system for a new punch/plasma fabricating center that reduced manufacturing costs and increased material utilization. Developed and implemented new tools and reports to allow the shop floor to better manage their processes. Evaluated new products for commercialization of the steel fabrication business outside of this plant.Special Assignment Materials Associate Coordinated and expedited outsourcing of all machined parts and services. Identified those items to be sent out, changing internal routings, establishing ordering procedures, and providing technical guidance to the outside suppliers.

Supervised the production machine shop and tool and die shop production group that produced a variety of medium to close tolerance parts used in transformers and switchgear on a small to medium lot basis. Parts were produced in either Kanban or specific order quantities. The tool and die group performed maintenance machining functions, fabrication and maintenance of punching and shearing dies and fixtures used in the manufacturing process.

Supervised 3rd shift coil winding area of 20 winding operators. This operation was responsible for the winding of low and high voltage coils for liquid and dry type power transformers. Prepared weekly winding schedules to meet the demands of assembly area and meet shipping schedules.

Duties included traditional industrial engineering as well as manufacturing engineering support to the plant. The areas supported included steel fabrication, punching, forming, welding, finishing, conductor fabrication, and the machine shop.
