As a Structural Engineer for Burns & McDonnell, my primary responsibility focuses on the structural design of oil & gas transportation and storage facilities. My project experience includes commodities ranging from crude and refined products to natural gas liquids, while working in facilities from pipeline booster stations to marine terminals. Design services include all phases of projects such as proposal development, early cost estimating activities, construction drawing development, and construction-phase services. Prior to starting my career at Burns & McDonnell, I received my bachelor's degree at Iowa State University in Civil Engineering. My undergraduate education gave me a solid foundation in the broad areas of focus in civil engineering. I chose to further my education by obtaining my master’s degree at the University of Washington where I was able to broaden my knowledge of some of the more niche areas of structural engineering including earthquake engineering, nonlinear analysis, and finite element analysis.
