I'm an experienced research engineer specialising in machine condition monitoring and vibration analysis. I have over 15 years' research experience and have lectured extensively on vibration, dynamics and machine condition monitoring at both the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). My PhD (UTS, 2009) investigated the ride and handling dynamics of passenger vehicles fitted with hydraulically interconnected suspension systems. My current research interests include:- Vibration-based diagnostics of rotating machinery, including variable speed applications- Gear wear monitoring and prediction using vibration and acoustic emissions- Operational modal analysis using the cepstrum, with applications in structural health monitoring- Prognostics of rotating machinery- Simulation and modelling of rotating machines for diagnostic applications- Signal processing of machine vibration signatures, in particular using cyclostationarity- Use of deep learning tools, such as long short-term (LSTM) neural networks, for machine diagnostics
