As a Project Manager at Opus Stewart Weir, I spearheaded the successful execution of transportation, municipal, and industrial civil projects. My role encompassed:- Managing the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept evaluation and preliminary design to directing designs, preparing plans and specifications, estimating, tender preparation, contract review and selection, permitting, and utility coordination.- Supervising a team of up to 15 geotechnical and geomatics staff, ensuring efficient construction management and contract administration.- Managing projects with revenues totalling $2.5M annually.- Conducting detailed grading and surface estimates for earthworks volume calculations, final details, as-built documentation, and turnover packages across various industrial, roadway, and intersection projects.- Leading civil designs for industrial developments, including pads, roadways, and intersection projects, with a focus on surface drainage.- Collaborating with technical specialists on civil project proposals, tendering, construction management, survey construction support, material testing, geotechnical, and environmental work.- Reporting on projects involving professionals in geotechnical, civil design, structural, rail track, rail signalization, traffic signalization, illumination, and environmental work.- Evaluating and reporting on as-built reports and plans for civil projects, covering grading, undergrounds, volumes, and piling work.- Overseeing technical inspections on construction projects, guiding material technologists, advising, evaluating, and reporting on material testing reports to ensure compliance with project specifications.- Conducting lessons learned sessions, quality audits, investigating best practices, and addressing non-conformance reports.- Directing the construction of roadways, intersections, and pads, including grading, granular, and asphalt work, and providing comprehensive reporting on as-built plans and reports.
