★ In my most recent role, I’m responsible for management of all technical aspects of testing, product design, product development and the commercial usage of our facilities by external bodies ★ I manage a multi-disciplinary team in their duties, undertaking effective performance management, coaching and mentoring which helps them to challenge themselves and realise their potential★ A key aspect of the role has been increasing the usage of facilities by external bodies – this has led to increased revenue generation and has involved using networking and negotiation on my behalf★ I’ve also focused on bringing some technical tasks in-house – which significantly reduces the company’s costs ★ After developing such a positive reputation in the industry, I’ve delivered numerous talks and presentations on a range of topics ranging from Toxicology to Research and Development ★ Meanwhile, I’m always happy to offer specialist technical support to a range of stakeholders, which enables better decision making accordingly

★ My previous role at PelGar involved managing the company’s specialist laboratory facilities (and included a spell between 2014 – 2015 where I managed a new facility which the company had acquired in Basingstoke)★ At both sites, I managed daily laboratory operations from all aspects, including quality, Health and Safety, hygiene and efficient use of facilities and resources★ Training and recruitment were key parts of the role, and I ensured that all staff were fully competent, trained and understood their duties★ Process Development was another important element of the position, working hard to identify problems or inefficiencies and taking action to implement solutions★ I also continued to undertake hands-on Laboratory work, which I found really helped me keep in touch with operational demands
