Double River Impact is a venture fund focused on investing in early stage companies delivering outsized financial performance while improving the world around them. One of the fund’s key focuses is investing in financial inclusion - those companies (banks, credit networks, credit worthiness systems, insurance etc.) that bring people in the developed into the world’s modern digital systems. We have a focus in places like Ghana, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Iterating on the concept we pioneered at Surf Air, I lead another innovation in the aviation space. We provided subscription flying services like Surf Air, but with a model that did not require aircraft ownership. The company ultimately failed, but the model succeeded and Surf Air has now pivoted into this model.

I joined the team about 9 months after the company launched (and was named a co-founder) to help lead the executive decision-making as co-CEO during a challenging period. Driving an aggressive restructuring, and pushing into technology investment in order to roll out new, innovative products for the investment banking community my tenure was short - but impactful. Once the company was on a more certain path I stepped outside the company and continued to support the CEO/founder as an advisor. This short-term role helped put the company on the path to merger into the Entoro group in Feb 2017.

Developed and Co-founded the world's first all-you-can-fly subscription airline. Based in Santa Monica, CA I led the company through 3 rounds of financing (~$17MM), took it to 81 employees and $7MM+ in annual revenues. The company maintained a 91 Net Promoter Score during my tenure.

This was a transitional role as I moved from a government employee into the private sector. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the DoD I led process improvement projects designed to improve achievement of key goals and metrics set by the US Government.

During my service at the Department of Defense, through a series of successive roles I held a number of positions including as an economist focused on Europe/NATO. I also conducted strategic debriefings, served as a liaison to the Law Enforcement community, participated at the South Texas High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Conference, and briefed the White House/President's Office of National Drug Control Policy.During this time I deployed to Iraq for the DoD (2009-2010), service for which I received the Civilian Joint Service Commendation Award and the Secretary of Defense's Medal for the Global War on Terror.

I joined IEA after leaving the White House, where I had been volunteering in the Presidential Personnel Office following President Bush's re-election. I was responsible for sales of new corporate contracts, and managing relationships with our strategic partners. In this capacity I represented IEA at the Russian Economic Forum in London, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's annual meetings in Serbia. Following the Beslan massacre in 2005 IEA's summit was suspended for the year, and I opted to attend graduate school.

I traveled ahead of Vice President Dick Cheney and managed his press activities on the road - in close coordination with the Washington-based team. Started as a volunteer on the White House staff, and moved over the BC-04 as the campaign got into swing.
