Bush, and Lyndon B. Johnson. The program was designed for mid-career professionals from various backgrounds and to foster leadership skills and a commitment to solving some of society's most pressing challenges. As a part of this esteemed program, I had the unique opportunity to engage with leading experts in the field of leadership while gaining valuable insights from former Presidents and their staff.

I was in charge of leading, overseeing, and developing a 5-member team, in addition to supporting employee-led groups. As a City Attorney, I helped to bring positive change to the 2,500-employee municipal corporation. I provided leadership to a 14-member team, including 6 attorneys and 8 other professionals in a high-paced environment. I successfully leveraged my diverse experience to provide legal counsel to the Mayor, City Council, senior leadership, city boards, committees, and commissions, in areas of finance, risk management, compliance, governance, construction, HR, licensing, real estate, government relations, and operations.  Generated $228+ million in savings over 10 years. dismissed dozens of personal injury and employee administration claims, and settled claim against economic development authority to stop a $60 million economic development project by effectively managing pension reform litigation. Decreased pending claims 20% over 2.5 years by increasing frequency of litigation reporting from litigation section. Assisted city with adopting new Code of Ethics and program for city employees/officials and volunteers; ensured adherence to Code by implementing quarterly ethics training for all new employees and volunteers. Drafted legislation friendly to economic development that was adopted by Chattanooga and Tennessee, including legislation that enabled all home rule municipalities to create local land bank authorities.  Successfully negotiated agreements for professional services, purchase of goods, and nonprofessional services, real estate, and government/tax incentives by working collaboratively with state and local officials to negotiate economic development incentives allowed under state law.

As Deputy General Counsel, I served as local lead counsel for a subsidiary of a Global Fortune 10 company. I was tasked with managing external law firms and professional service companies in complex litigation, environmental, regulatory, labor/employment, and real estate projects. I directed local counsel and legal affairs manager and providing both tactical and strategic support to all senior staff and line departments, including purchasing, finance, HR, logistics, capital planning, and operations. I also oversaw compliance and risk management programs. Achieved high level of success through policy & project management at global company’s billion-dollar manufacturing facility.  Developed and implemented processes/procedures for purchase orders, supplier agreements, contracts, regulatory matters, real estate transactions, government relations, corporate governance, litigation, construction, and financial issues. Managed legislative issues at both local and state level, assisted with management of government relations team, monitored state/federal legislation, and provided relevant briefings to senior management. Ensured compliance with state regulations by partnering with state commissioners and administration officials to implement necessary processes; worked with Tennessee Department of Insurance and Commerce, Tennessee Department of Transportation, and Tennessee Department of Economic Development on compliance issues. As compliance officer, headed local team that implemented parent company’s governance, risk management, and compliance program; worked with each department to identify and plan for opportunities to reduce risk. Developed and implemented external outreach strategy that aligned company’s political, civic, and philanthropic spend with company’s strategic objectives.
