Joined NEC after graduating from OU with Computer Science Engineering degree. Began as a Quality Assurance Engineer for their Class-5 telephone switching systems. Performed functional test writing, execution and reporting. Moved up to testing lead for a group of three test engineers. Transitioned to development of automated call box scripts for load testing, setup and nightly test executions. Built automated test result analysis scripts in UNIX shell. Taught myself C language in order to expand capabilities of automated testing and call box integrated scripting.

Interviewed for cooperative program at IBM in order to pay for college during Junior and Senior years at the University of Oklahoma. Gained incredible experience and built deep relationships with two full semesters and one summer as an IBM AS-400 customer services and technical support specialist. Learned about terminals, printers, token-ring networks and RPG programming. Solved many customer problems through test lab research and root cause analysis.
