Boat CaptainWaf1 Crew Aug 2021 - PresentWhile I grew up in South Florida and have been on the water as an untrained captain of small boats or as a passenger on large cruise ships, during COVID I received several hours of training through Freedom Boat Club of Rhode Island to Captain small motor boats. I later received private lessons from experienced boat captains in Rhode Island for training on my 49 foot 1500 HP dual engine 45 ton 2003 Cranchi with 2 second delay. Having mastered this challenge including docking in tight spaces, it became possible to enjoy the waters around the Ocean State or other waters including by renting boats on Lake Michigan, San Diego, South Florida or elsewhere. During the boating season in Rhode Island, this boat (WAF1 Crew) is frequently on the waters of Narragansett Bay from Providence to Newport. Late afternoons on sunny days or weekends without much wind are the perfect time for excursions with friends and colleagues. This includes scientist lab members in #eldeirylab, colleagues from #LegorretaCancerCenter, members of the community who wish to learn about cancer in general or in Rhode Island, those who have chosen specific opportunities to donate to the Miriam Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital or the Legorreta Cancer Center, as well as colleagues from around the country who are visiting Providence or Brown University, some of whom might be considering relocating to the beautiful Ocean State.
