As Head – Group Communication, reporting to MD & Group CEO, my accountability areas for managing the corporate communications function of the JSPL Group encompass Media Relations, Crisis Management, Social & Digital Media, Internal Communication, Corporate Advertising, Marketing Communication, Financial & Advocacy Communication, CSR & Social Communication, Events, Seminars, Exhibitions and Print Production. Leading a team of 15 professionals and supervising a host of external agency associates, the responsibility areas includes delivering cost-effective end-to-end communication solutions: from strategy to planning, execution and tactical outreach, from measurement to calibration; for internal customer departments at JSPL Group.

With a nationwide footprint of DTH TV, Enterprise telephony & BPO services, and a Global footprint connecting worlds top 50 business centers, Reliance Communications gave a unique diversified exposure to multiple-facets of communication requirements of various high growth business domains delivering consumer-centric solutions to over 100 Million Retail and over 20,000 Domestic and Global Enterprise customers through deployment of complex technology in a hyper-competitive business environment.

An integral part of the core leadership team and heading telecom practice area handling Public Relations and Public Affairs for key accounts of Tata Teleservices, Tata Communications (earlier VSNL), Tata Internet Services and Nortel. Was also responsible to supervise large accounts like Tata Steel and Voltas.Joined as Associate Director – Media Relations Group in the start-up that rose to become India’s then largest communications advisory. Working on high growth companies of Tata Group, got in-depth exposure and deep insights of leveraging communication potential while leading the launch of nationwide CDMA services, post-disinvestment communication program for VSNL, M&A programs of Tyco Global Network, Hughes Telecom, Teleglobe to name a few.

Working closely with the MD & CEO of India’s oldest stock exchange, I had the opportunity to work on communication campaigns and intricacies of some defining moments of the Indian Capital Markets including the initial steps towards corporatization of the broker-owned & -managed exchange; and the launch of first derivatives trading platform in India.

A PR firm (member of Rudder Finn Network) focused on BFSI and Technology domains, I was responsible for handling key accounts like Bombay Stock Exchange, Zurich Mutual Fund and ICICI Bank – Credit Card Division and Apnaloan.com (India’s first Multi-Financier consumer loan network). The stint at Capital Images imparted insights into the financial world – from a market-maker perspective to a consumer savings avenues standpoint, from a unsecured debt provider angle to a secured debt aggregators view.
