My role as the Controller of HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions North America makes me responsible for the financial health and reporting of the North American subsidiary. It includes managing relationship with finance leads of our P3 projects while fulfilling various reporting requirements set out by our German parent.

My role at HOCHTIEF involves the day to day accounting of various projects including but not limited to full accounting and financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. I also manage the invoicing process for the Projects that require strict adherence to the Project Agreement.I am responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for reporting as well as to work with statutory auditors for smooth and timely completion of audit as per stringent deadlines set for global reporting to the parent company. Prepare analysis of budget vs. actual cost along reasons for variation for trustees, partners and other stakeholdersIn addition to these routine tasks, I have an active contribution in commercial procedures and due diligence for assets being marketed for sale.

Pakistan Petroleum Limited - PPL is one of the pioneers of the E&P Industry of Pakistan (formerly a subsidiary of Burmah Castrol Plc. UK) which presently holds interest in 12 producing fields (including Sui Gas Field which in biggest gas field in Pakistan) and 33 exploration blocks. PPL is the second largest E&P Company of Pakistan contributing around 25% of the production of gas in the Country with annual turnover of around USD 1.0 billion. The Joint Venture section of the Finance Department is responsible for all financial matters relating to Operated and Partner-Operated Joint Ventures in accordance with the guidelines provided in the relevant Petroleum Concession Agreements, Joint Operating Agreements, Offshore Production Sharing Agreements, Production Rules and Petroleum Policy. Broadly, my portfolio included preparation and review of economic evaluation model of prospective investments/projects, review of Financial Statements and cost statements of Operated and Partner-Operated Joint Ventures, review of Contracts and Agreements having financial implications, monitor budget utilisation (and investigate reasons for variation where significant) and adequate funding by way of cash call receipts and payments and coordination of annual audit for Operated Joint Ventures. I was also part of the 'Design and Conceptualization Committee' for two years in which the Company won overall 1st prize in one year and 1st prize in its sector in the other.

• Involved as team leader/ team member in financial audits of companies in insurance and pharmaceutical industry ensuring compliance of their financial statements with IFRS and other regulatory requirements• Involved in the first time implementation of COSO and PCAOB 2 framework on a Bank in Pakistan. Identified gaps and recommended solutions to ensure alignment of the Bank’s process documentation with the COSO and PCOAB 2 Frameworks, International Best Practices and applicable statutory regulations• Worked as a senior member of the team of consultants responsible for performance of the bank-wide Gap Analysis exercise to identify areas where the bank had gaps in its risk management practices measured against Basel II requirements and Industry Best Practices. Identified gaps in the bank’s Risk Management Framework in relation to Operational Risks and recommended improvements• Performed detailed review of existing processes in underwriting cycle of an insurance company, identified controls deficiencies and resulting risks. Recommended improved controls compliant with local regulations and in-line with global best practices• Re-designed MIS reports and their related data input modules based on general computer controls and control deficiencies identified in the benchmarking exercise which resulted in improved management control and efficiency
