I provide strategic input on research and technological development in areas covering Video Services, eXtended Reality, Video Gaming, Automotive, Connectivity/Networks, Robotics and Consumer Electronics. In these specific vertical areas, my research covers extreme low latency processing and transport, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), Network Slicing (media optimized), Network Edge/Device computational split, Adaptive Bitrate Video (OTT) and many more technology horizontals. I give presentations at conferences and tradeshows like SCTE, NAB, IBC, IEEE MMSP, the Immersive Conference and do webinars and whitepapers on Adeia’s latest research and novel innovations. I also represent Adeia in the Metaverse Standards Forum.

Led the eXtended Reality research project focused on IP generation for 5G and future 6G network edge / device split processing, extreme low latency media processing and transport and device optimization concepts. The research project covered Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Merged Reality, Virtual Reality , haptics and cloud gaming. The specific research within each of those areas focused on media processing and transport optimization, network/device split for XR processing, optimization for XR device and edge processing, SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), point cloud processing/compression, spatial audio, XR specific network APIs, XR use cases and enhanced user experience.In addition to leading the XR project, I represented Ericsson in VRIF and OpenXR. I also represented Ericsson in 3GPP SA4 focused on XR related media optimizations and my research project contributed to Next G Alliance and MPEG working groups covering video encoding , audio encoding and processing and Visual Point Cloud Compression all within the MPEG Immersive tracks.

Led the technical innovation and research efforts for the media business unit inside of Ericsson. Since 2008, the Media Innovation Sub teams have filed 400+ patents in areas of content production, encoding, content distribution, adaptive bit rate video, advertising, end user experience and optimization of media delivery and streaming over mobile, DOCSIS and DSL networks. My teams are responsible for always researching emerging media technologies and innovating in targeted areas helping make Ericsson the leader in all areas related to media. Our rapidly developed POC prototype concepts demonstrating our innovation and research can be seen at major trade shows and in external innovation competitions. Ultimately, through my team's vision, research and innovation, Ericsson will continue to be the leader in the media industry drastically improving the media experience for everyone.

Led the Research, Innovation and Advanced Prototyping teams for the next generation of technologies for cable, IPTV, broadcast, and multiscreen video. Our focus in this time was innovation related to DLNA, Adaptive Streaming primarily focusing on MPEG DASH as well as advanced concepts in maximizing efficiency in the delivery of video streams over unmanaged networks. My team's vision was to innovate in areas offering the best end user experience while minimizing bandwidth usage in any unmanaged, semi-managed or managed network video streaming environment. We developed futuristic POC prototypes demonstrating the technical innovation as well as visionary business use cases leveraging the innovative technology.During this time, we were the top 3 finalists in innovation competitions 4 out of 5 years and won 3 out of 5 years . These competitions were both heavily sided toward business innovation however we leveraged our technical research and innovation to put together business use cases around the inventions. As professional Ericsson innovators and researchers, we moved from competing in competitions to mentoring and coaching colleagues with a passion for innovation and technology.My team and I represented Ericsson in the DASH-IF were Ericsson's primary contributors into that forum.

This system was developed to provide an online solution for the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry.
