Coordinated and led all components of a beach safety and spinal cord injury prevention in Orange County, California. Major responsibilities included coordinating an annual Lifeguard Education Conference, liaising and organizing hospital activities with local lifeguard agencies, and developing, delivering and evaluating public education interventions related to beach safety and drowning prevention. Notable projects include coordinating the first Southern California Water Safety Summit in March 2019 and developing a language processing query of EPIC Emergency Department records to identify beach related illness and injuries from hospital data.

Several years of rescue service experience with expertise in tower, vehicle, and rescue boat lifeguard operations, emergency communications, emergency medical service delivery, and beach management. Worked with the Community Benefit department to conducted a mixed-methods program evaluation of the Head Start Water Safety Education and Life Jacket Giveaway program. Evaluation included quantitative analysis of pre- and post-program surveys, and in depth follow-up phone interviews with participants.

Plan, coordinate, and supervise three seperate student volunteer groups conduct one to five day projects in Northern Baja California, Mexico. These projects vary in nature and include light labor/construction, HIV/AIDS advocacy, orphanage visits, tutoring/mentoring programs, and bi-national border dialogue and immigrant/deportee support.
