I have been working within the healthcare setting for over 20 years. I am a caring, compassionate and an ambitious person. I am highly motivated and able to manage and prioritise my own time. I aspire to be enthusiastic, dynamic and forward thinking in my nursing approach. In March 2016 I became an Advanced Life SupportProvider and was entrusted to take care of the patients requiring a high level of carein the Resuscitation Room of Emergency Department. I work well under pressure and enjoy the physical and mental demands of the profession. I consider myself excellent in organising andprioritising each patient's care whilst adhering to the National and Local guidelines and policies which are in place to ensure provision of high quality, safe and supportive healthcare. The communication and IT skills, which I demonstrate in practice, have enabled me to acquire excellent skills in delivering effective holistic care to meet the individual's needs. My previous career in teaching allowed thesetransferable skills to be shown in the service I deliver to the patients. In my current role, I help my fellow colleagues and nursing students gain knowledge and new skills by motivating and empowering them to act. I help my junior colleagues to interpret an ECG or “I walk through” a venflon insertion. I am functionally multilingual and able to translate and interpret in Polish or German. I am a driver and able to workrotational shift patterns. My determination and readiness for new challenges has driven me to look for work settings where I can utilise all my skills. Being inquisitive, I am familiar with some of the critical care pathways such as: cardiac or respiratory arrest,MI, major haemorrhage, asthma or stroke. I have a desire to investigate and learn new skills therefore I became a part of the Hospital Emergency Care Team (HECT) based at the University Hospital Wishaw. I am an expert clinical practitioner who provides advanced clinical care, primarily delivering out-of-hours care for patients within theacute setting. I am the first responder to the deteriorating patient. I work autonomously and independently in line with four pillars of advanced practice. I provide advanced clinical assessment, history taking and use my knowledge and skills to diagnose clinical conditions. As part of HECT I work to the level of a junior doctor identifying those who are acutely ill and I facilitate early nursing and medical intervention.
