Adama Agriculture (member of Syngenta Group), June 2017 – July 2021A global leader in manufacturing crop protection products in over 100 countries Europe, US & Canada, Latin America, Asia-Pacific (including China) and India, the Middle-East and Africa. Global sales: $5.9 Billion. • Streamlined the AP and accounting processes in four countries by adding automation and reorganizing functions, which reduced error and reprocessing to almost 0% and reduced 600 FTE hours per month.• Reduced the credit approval process in 10 days and established a detailed sales / collections forecasting methodology to assess and accept credit risk, which increased safe credit limits to clients in 30%. • Implemented and maintained ICBP (Internal Control Best Practices) corporate manual at three distribution centres and one manufacturing plant by designing Risk & Controls matrices and Controls Testing Plans.• Introduced the sales team to a culture of margin rather than the usual “volume focus” approach. By reducing volume in low-margin products, reallocating fixed costs to the right territories, and controlling discounts to clients, gross margin increased in 3%. • Managed all the details of an M&A process (US$30 million local distributor acquisition in Peru) from first target approach though post-acquisition alignment to Adama’s global policies. I prepared all the financial models in coordination with the M&A office in Israel. I also supported the office in Israel in the application of IFRS 3 and was in charge of the integrity validation of data migration from the target’s ERP to SAP.• Ensured IFRS accounting policies were correctly applied and documented especially in areas like revenue recognition, allowance of doubtful accounts, provisions and related disclosures. • Supervised all usual financial activities: AR, AP, tax compliance, accounting, forecasting, manufacturing costs, opex and capex control and prepared annual budget and presented to Senior Management in Miami (US).
