His team finished first in Penske’s highly competitive Shark Tank Competition held at the company’s headquarters in the US for presenting the most innovative process improvement idea to the senior management team for implementation in the US and Canadian markets. As the ARM, Waleed effectively managed Penske’s largest branch in Canada as well as its agent locations and reported to the Rental Manager who was responsible for overseeing 2 locations in the Toronto district. His key responsibilities at Penske included asset management, balancing fleet productivity, developing and implementing cost effective and revenue optimization strategies to increase branch profitability, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement by reviewing and analyzing monthly financial reports for the branch and successful management of key accounts of various Fortune 500 companies. He also collaborated with the Consumer Development team to assess the viability of new growth channels leading to the opening of new Penske agent locations in the Greater Toronto Area. In line with his ARM responsibilities, he coached and mentored new rental associates and Management Trainees in the Toronto district and created career development plans for the junior staff. In his current role at OPENLANE, he is responsible for enforcing the company’s policies and procedures internally and externally, handling arbitration claims pertaining to the physical and Digital Marketplace businesses, conducting internal and external investigations to gather and evaluate evidence, mediating disputes between clients and negotiating settlements / solutions.
