Responsible for data planning and definition, MS-SQL database architectural design, software and application development, consulting, performance monitoring and management of data and database technology. In addition to this, I provided customer support, backup and recovery of data, and ensured that data security was in place. Other duties performed include:■ Designed and implemented client/server database architecture on a local area network to over 150 simultaneous clients.■ Designed and developed Residence Life student incident management system based on Microsoft SQL Server for Office of Residence Life.■ Installed, configured, and administered MS SQL Server 2000 as a backend database server. This included administering user logins and rights, database backups, supervision, database maintenance, and performance monitoring. Assisted in the installation and configuration of a Windows 2000 Server operating system (1/14/02).■ Designed and developed MS Access and SQL Server database applications accessible by over 150 simultaneous users for various departments and professional and student staff offices.■ Conducted presentations and training for departments on the operations of RLIS developed software applications, and IT security best practices to be followed in conducting normal business function.■ Attended oracle database administration course as a representative of the Residence Life Information Services. Topics taught and covered included relational and object relational data modeling, database design and architecture, data warehousing, data quality, Java, JDBC, access and user management in Oracle, and migration to an Oracle database server. (UWL Inter Unit Collaboration Grant 1/7/2002-2/24/2002)■ Consulted with UWL Financial Aid Office in the development and implementation of the FAO online job board application.■ Assisted in the installation of security card swipe readers and security alarm sensors for residence halls and computer labs.
