My research activity had as main objective to speed up Total's petroleum reservoir simulation code. I have investigated two research topics both based on domain decomposition methods. The first part of my research work focused on the development, the implementation (3D under Fortran) and the numerical study of multi-scale algorithms for multiphase compositional Darcy flows. The second part was involved in study how to use non-linear domain decomposition methods either directly as iterative solvers or as preconditioners for Newton’s method for the purpose of speed up the parallel computing to solve non-linear problem.
