I have completed my eleventh year as an administrator at Town Creek Elementary which opened in August 2009. The most recent eight years I ave served as principal and the first three years as assistant principal. I was a participant of the Principal Fellows program as part of my graduate degree program and have participated in numerous professional development opportunities since being an administrator. To enhance my leadership skills in preparation for a principal position, I completed the Future Ready Leadership program sponsored by the North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principal's Association. I was selected by my peers as the county Brunswick County Principal of the Year representative for the 2018-2019 school year. Using my knowledge and skills of data analysis and routine practice of needs analysis at year end, our school has successful increased from a school that was identified by the Department of Public Instruction as not having made a year's worth of growth to exceeding a year's worth of growth for students during the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school year.
