About Walker Mcdaniel

I was born in Kansas City, MO, and grew up moving around the country. The son-of-military, we lived in Birmingham, Chicago, Odessa, Houston, Columbus, New Orleans and finally settled in Austin, TX. A third-generation Longhorn, I've called Austin home for 30 years and have raised both my children here.In 1998, I graduated from the Business School at UT with a Marketing degree. I began in advertising leading Accounts, but gravitated to the New Business side of the agency. It was there that my career in Sales began. Sales is a holistic passion that is both 'in the building' (leading, instituting a 'winning culture', developing careers, partnering with the go-to-market entities) and 'outside the building' (winning engagements, building partnerships, hiring talent, developing channels). Of those, helping to develop the careers of my reps and leaders is my passion. Being of service to them, just like the customers we partner with for the long haul, is my key to the role. Leadership is a 'high service' job, one of working under, lifting up and not sitting above. When not developing winning Sales teams, my children, cooking, film, detective series, friends, travel, sports and outdoors are my passtimes.
