As the Director of Advocacy and Community Affairs, I worked with elected officials at all levels to make sure they know the priorities of the health system. As a catholic system, we not only had traditional issues that effect health care we also advocate on behalf of other mission based initiatives. I also managed the corporate philantrophy for the system. I created a system to have structure and process to apply for sponsorships. I created a committee with a diverse represention from around the system discuss, vet, and approve applications. After the committee meetings, I notify the organization and then worked to make sure the sponsorship is properly executed for the health system and the partner. This allows me to meet many different people in the community and find creative unusual opportunities to partner.

As an outreach employee, I traveled around multiple communities where I visit with constituents, businesses, community leaders and/or groups. I continually educated people on services of the Congressional office; provide legislative updates; and built relationships with business, government officials and varied community leaders.

I helped fund raise for then candidate Jeff Duncan for the SC-03 Congressional Race. In addition to fund raising I planned events and helped grow relationships. I also worked on several other campaigns.

I developed and maintained relationships with the South Carolina General Assembly, regulators and our members of Congress on behalf of the SC Bankers Association. I worked with many different businesses, government entities, and advocacy groups to help develop laws and regulations.

I worked in a branch of the bank where I helped grow the branch by opening accounts and servicing existing accounts. I also got to know my customers to provide them the best options for their banking. I also cleaned up the exception lists.
