Summer Camp Counselor - Lead
CurrentThe Camp Counselor Lead – is a lead position at the City’s Day camps. This position is on the leadership team and coordinates, designs, and manages the daily program activities, staff, and campers. The lead is responsible for ensuring an effective and cohesive operation on a day-to-day basis. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are but not limited to:• Manages the operations of the day camp site, is the onsite supervisor for the counselors at the site; conveys expectations of the program and prepares recommendations for the improvement of the program.• Develops, organizes, and conveys the weekly program plans to the counselors in the camp setting.• Assists Sr. Recreation Supervisor in the delivery of staff orientation, trainings, and staff meetings.• Prepares for the program by organizing supplies, communication prior to and during the camps to parents and being a communication support for counselors.• Pro-actively identifies and solves problems and areas of concern for staff, campers, and parents.• Establishes and maintains high levels of a positive staff working environment by providing mentorship and support to counselors.• Assists counselors in the supervision of the campers and the management of their needs. • Attends weekly leadership meetings.• Completes reporting procedures for all accidents/incidents, behaviors, medications, or emergency forms.• Supports counselors in behavioral management of participants.
