When life threw me a curveball in 2013 with the tragic and unexpected death of my 19 year old daughter, I dusted myself off and immediately launched a highly impactful, results-oriented nonprofit in response to this most devastating loss. We have received national recognition for our lifesaving work and we successfully got legislation passed in PA that will help to save young lives - "Peyton's Law."In addition to leading the work of The Peyton Walker Foundation, I also run a meeting/event planning business - Choice Meetings. Now that meetings are making a comeback (post-Covid) - we're refocusing on our exemplary delivery of white-glove service for our clients and their events.Delivering memorable, well-executed and successful meetings is my core focus. With close to 30 years in the meetings and hospitality industry, I think I've seen almost everything in this business. I'm quick on my feet, confident in problem-solving and extremely tedious in pre-planning. I'm able to draw on my experience and dedicate my energies to providing professional meeting/conference planning and meeting management services. I take my clients' business goals & objectives personally. Our portfolio of clients includes biotech and pharma companies, corporations and associations.I pride myself on being a well-respected and upstanding professional with the highest level of integrity and unwavering ethics. I have planned and managed national conferences throughout the United States, as well as statewide and regional meetings. My meeting planning skills include RFP development and site selection process, contract negotiations, marketing and promotion, registration services, comprehensive logistics planning and on-site meeting/event management. As an active member of the meetings industry community, I have had the good fortune of developing an extensive network of connections and resources that benefit all of my clients. Executive DirectorThe Peyton Walker Foundation Jan 2014 - PresentThe Peyton Walker Foundation was established in January 2014 in memory of my 19-year old daughter who passed away in November 2013 without warning due to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The Foundation's mission is to increase awareness and survival rates for Sudden Cardiac Arrest.The Foundation provides FREE heart screenings to students and athletes in the Central Pennsylvania area, provides scholarships to students pursuing careers in healthcare (currently limited to students in the Physician Assistant program at King's College where Peyton was enrolled as a PA student), and helps to fund the purchase of AEDs (defibrillators) and CPR/AED training.Foundation work includes collaborating with healthcare provider organizations, planning and executing fundraising events, advocacy work with a healthcare coalition team, managing the day-to-day operations of the foundation, and much more as the Foundation continues to grow and serve the Central Pennsylvania population.We are checking hearts...protecting hearts....and saving lives!
