Infintium, Inc is focused on Designing and Manufacturing turn-key fuel cell PowerCells in the 1.5 - 8kW power range and always has something in development to keep pushing forward in developing markets. Our design specialties include Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Modeling, and Electronics, and we have some of the highest performance products in the industry due to the expertise shown by our team.As the Director of Engineering at Infintium, I am responsible for guiding and developing the Engineering group while also acting as the product manager for our current air and liquid cooled PEM stack power systems.We are on the lookout for additional talented individuals and want to expand the team further in our software and electrical groups especially.

My work at Tesla revolved around making the Gigafactory facility and manufacturing processes as fully integrated and low waste as possible. My specific area of focus was on the battery cell formation process - the final step in the manufacturing process of the cell. With a strong focus on power electronics design and analysis, I was able to plan, source, and propose a solution to save over 50% of the TCO of this process, saving a considerable amount of money for the company (details in my resume).Other tasks had me modeling systems using Excel and Matlab/Simulink, calculating efficiencies based on first principles, and working with our vendors to execute on our plans. At Tesla our aim is to change the world of sustainable transportation; I have made significant contributions to the Gigafactory project to lower the cost of cells and our vehicles and promote electrification in the world.

My principal function at Proterra was to lead a small group of engineers to improve the existing Energy Storage Systems within the vehicle (HV Battery System) and investigate/design/develop new technologies that will ensure Proterra's success into the future.My role typically revolves around developing and tracking project timelines, reporting status to upper management, keeping the team members on track for our current projects, and diving into technical aspects of the design whenever possible.

Developed electrical control system and primary software requirements for an innovative transit bus which more than doubled fuel economy in the inner city transit bus market.Functioned as the sole electrical engineer while designing the Mobile Development Lab; a rolling proof of concept of the vehicle drivetrain and a testbed for various vehicle systems.Developed innovative troubleshooting methods which aided in rapid prototype development by increasing understanding and knowledge of a complex vehicle control system among the technical staff on the project.Led an electrical team of five engineers, designers, and technicians to design and build the electrical system of the FC35; a fuel cell version of Proterra's Battery Electric 35' series hybrid transit bus.On-site technical customer support for advanced vehicle prototypes. Planned and produced IC control boards with emphasis on board design, assembly, and microprocessor PIC programming.Primary programmer for control system of small and medium biopower systems using Visual Basic 6.0. Programming centered on well-documented code, serial communications, and visual objects for user interface.Developed innovative engine fuel management systems, enabling the operation of internal combustion engines with multiple fuels, using a version of Basic in conjunction with PIC microprocessors.Developed more than 50% of total control system code for BioMax 50 system using National Instruments Labview 7 & 8 running on an NI compact FieldPoint controller including UI and subroutines.Provided full shipping, installation, training, and phone support for 6 prototype systems to locations across the US and Central America.Managed a deliverables based project from the time that the contract was awarded through completion.Awarded U.S. Army Commendation for Excellence in a Civilian Project.2002
