Experienced educator, person of science, and church musician. Skilled in choral and orchestral conducting, piano, arranging (published by four music publishers). After undergraduate degree at FSU, I taught high school earth science and music at Washington High School in Pensacola, Florida. While at FSU, I took a number of courses in meteorology, climate, physics, and astronomy. I am a full (voting) member of The American Meteorological Society.Took copyright law at Belmont University. Have served as seminar clinician in copyright law and computer music scoring (incl. use of Finale).I also possess the "Extra Class" (top level 5) FCC license as an Amateur Radio Operator. This requires deep study in electronics, magnetism, radio/tv wave propagation from long waves to microwaves. I had to pass an examination by the FCC, and I later became a radio license examiner (under the VEC program) for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).I was trained to be a surface weather observer for the National Weather Service/FAA as ASOS augmenter (based on Federal Meteorological Handbook #1), and made observations at Wayne Field near Detroit Michigan. I have put together and operate my website weatherroanoke.com - a weather site that among other information generates professional level surface weather charts hourly (weatherroanoke.com/surface.html).Latest degree being a Master of Music with a focus in Conducting from Florida State University.Currently I substitute teach in the area of science. For four years plus I have been a substitute teacher for Roanoke County Public Schools, Roanoke City Public Schools, and Roanoke Catholic School. I am also very interested in science relating to theological issues. This includes study in astrophysics and cosmology as related to Biblical texts. Items of research include structure and makeup of the universe, transdimensionality, origin of life, planetary evolution, and intelligent design.I have been honored to be a judge at the City of Roanoke Public Schools at-large (disstrict) science fair for six years, Roanoke County Public Schools at-large (district) science fair; a judge for the Southwest Regional Science Fair, and for the VSSEF (Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair) sixth year at April 2024; at VSSEF, have been judge for special categories for NASA, NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and The National Geographic Society.
