Senior-most engineer for 900 Users, more than 950 VMs, 20 Hosts, 7 Clusters and 6 SANs across 4 Datacenters in 3 States. Supported operating systems were 80% Windows and 20% Linux.Primary responsibility to architect our internal cloud on vSphere.Secondary responsibility to engineer, manage and maintain a vast array of systems including monitoring, best practice and regulatory compliance.Charged with the discovery, evaluation, recommendation and implementation of new and updated technologies.Assists with the development, testing and execution of business continuity plans for technologies housed in vSphere.Considered the internal SME for a wide variety of technologies including those outside my stated responsibilities.Key Projects: ◦ Fixed, then completed a partially implemented vSphere 6.0 installation, stabilizing a highly-volatile environment. ◦ Replaced a non-functioning VMware VDP instance with Dell vRanger, saving time, money and our data. ◦ Evaluated and developed a regulatory compliance platform for HIPAA, and Federal Agency requirements, utilizing Powershell.

Senior-most administrator for 210 Users, more than 500 VMs, 45 Hosts, 7 Clusters, 5 SANs and 35 Physical Servers across 2 Datacenters. Supported operating systems are 90% Windows and 10% Linux/AIX/OpenVMS.Lead system architect and engineer. Charged with the oversight and protection of all critical applications, services and hardware.Responsible for the discovery, requirements gathering, evaluation and implementation of new and updated technologies to ensure an advanced and highly-available technology stack.Tasked with the development and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.Founding member of the Technical Architecture Group. Providing security, systems and endpoint architecture as well as administering the on-boarding of new technologies.Key Projects: ◦ Architected and completed upgrades from vSphere 4.0 to 4.1, to 5.0 and finally to 5.1. These upgrades were completed with no downtime or negative impact. Advanced offerings from VMware, such as vCloud Director and vCloud Networking and Security, were included in these upgrades. ◦ Completed the retirement of our Charon VAX based OpenVMS system in Q1 2015. ◦ Lead evaluation and implementation of an EMC VNX and XtremIO storage solution, focusing on VDI performance.

Tier 2-3 support technician for over 1,400 machines and 1,200 users as well as management of a 4 student team of tier 1-2 technicians. Support scope ranging over 40 departments at K-State. Support ranging from basic hardware and software troubleshooting to project and AD group policy management.Assisted in the migration of all SLA users from Novell eDirectory infrastructure to Windows Active Directory. Experience with migration of Novell user rights to Active Directory as well as migration to AD group policy.Sole support for all iTAC web applications. Experience in managing IIS (WIMP) and Apache (WAMP) based web servers running on Windows Server 2003. Maintained all aspects of the Kansas Department of Corrections Electronic Medical Records system.Experience with administration of Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, Group Policy management, Citrix, SAN/NAS, LAN/WAN Networks, Disaster Recovery, MS Exchange 2003, MSSQL 2000-2005, Linux, VMware ESX environments, AS400, and the 24x7 support of these systems.
